The observatory is more than just an observation deck. There is a museum about the building before you get to the elevators. Great info and great views of the city. The weather was clear, so we had unobstructed views. Could have stayed for hours taking it all in. Worth the price. FYI, it is very windy on the 86th floor.

2nd visit after many years and still amazing to do. It is nice that it started with some insights into to construction through videos and so. A must do when in New York City.
